Winter Blessings to you all!
U.S Travels… As I write this I am still in MN recovering from surgery on my eyes. I try to avoid going north in the winter, (I know, I'm a sissy! I really hate cold and snow!) but because the recovery required me to stay put (no flying, no bending, no straining, etc) for so many weeks, February was the best time to have it done. I already am able to see so much better and the swelling improves daily. Thank you all for your prayers.
Family of Faith Bible Church in Apache Junction, AZ, allowed me to start their missions month early this year and what a wonderful time it was!! The pictures from the orphanage family Christmas enabled me to introduce all of the new children to the very congregation that so highly supports them. John (he sang) and Patti Worre and dear longtime friends, Eric and Cayleen Haarala, Paula Herbst, plus, my cousins, Dennis and Lynette and Dana Fowlkes were there (from NE)! The pastors, Henry and Brenda Dodge, had planned a beef stew Sunday dinner for the whole church. It was delicious and such fun fellowship! Thank you, Lord!
Mexico News… Poor Zacatecas has been 'hobbled' by the government insisting on all schools being closed again, due to covid. It has so hard on families that have both parents working. Using the Abeka video program helps Katy's school, of course, but for the majority of our Spanish speaking families, it does delay learning. Please pray this edict gets lifted soon. That also means our Christmas Shoebox Blessing has been delayed as well. Horacio agreed to only one week of closing the church. So, we have been able to continue other church ministries. PTL!
Katy’s School… Katy just hired another local teacher! Thank you for praying! She is Mexican and also a missionary kid! (We love MK's!) She has perfect English and also speaks French. We've known her all of her life. She will start March 1st so this will free up Selah to help with pre k 4 and Kindergarten which have grown to 14 and 17 students respectively. Wow! We still need 3 more teachers for next year. Please continue to ask the Lord to meet these needs, in His perfect timing!
Prayer Request… We all (Manuel, Sami, Selah, myself and during the days, Eloisa) had been happy in the current home we rent. Last fall we noticed the owner quit fixing things and now have learned that the owner plans to knock it down and build a new house that he can charge more for rent! So we are house hunting again. Please pray with us. We need a house with at least one bedroom on the first floor, this is very hard to find as lots are small and very pricey! But, God knows!!
