January 2008 Newsletter
Tuesday, January 1st, 2008Happy New Year!
We are entering this new year with grateful hearts, looking forward with great anticipation for all the things that God has in store for this year!
On The Home Front…
Our darling little “Max”, who was adopted by Horacio and Katy last month, is a wonderful baby. We are so blessed to have him in our hearts and lives! Just one week after the papers were signed Katy discovered that she is pregnant!
Fantastic! We are all so thrilled and even more sure of God’s decision to put that baby boy in our family. Now, we look forward to July and another baby! God is so good!
Casa Hogar…
The new Huichol Indian boys are doing so much better. They have even adapted well to the school! But, now their older siblings have asked for them to be brought back as they plan to care for them. Please keep them in prayer.
Casa Hogar Morelia…
I was informed that our beloved Donna passed away last month. She has been a huge supporter of that orphanage and a wonderful friend to so many. She will be sorely missed as she has spent months out of every year helping there at the casa. Our prayers are with her husband, Jim, and their family.
Heather…
She’s coming back down from the mountain! (She has worked with Noe’s family in a Huichol Indian village for the past three months) I am so glad to have her back, at least for a while. She is a tremendous help to me and to the church in Zacatecas. She will coordinate the work teams that are coming down and perhaps travel a bit with me this winter.
CanZion Institutes…
Lord willing, we will do a missions conference in the new school in Colombia and visit a few other schools while in South America. We will be doing things in regions now, as the schools are growing in numbers and it is impossible to travel to each one every year. We also hope to do regional conferences and open up short term missions trips to the students this year.
Exciting Opportunity…
Horacio has been offered air time on our local TV and radio stations. The TV would be one live broadcast a week and they would repeat every night. It will cost $2,500 dollars a month, though, so they are looking for local sponsors. We will know soon if this is something God wants! The radio will not charge him and he will be broadcast twice a week, we believe. PTL!
Teacher wanted…
Katy is still looking for a teacher to help with the kids’ home-schooling. Please be praying for this need, and if you are interested, let us know!
Thank you each for your faithful prayers, love and support. We truly are so grateful for you all!
